How to Start Your Photography Instagram

Just start.

You’ve probably been thinking about starting an Instagram for your photography but you’re scared of what your friends and family might think, you’re not sure how or if you should.

1. If your fear is judgement from people you know. Block them. Completely eliminate the possibility of that being a reason setting you back. If that doesn’t make a difference in your decisions then that wasn’t the reason you aren’t starting that photography Instagram.
2. Just start it, follow yourself and just post for 0 people. Learn how to do it for fun and how to love it for yourself.
3. Look into your future. So many people wish they started earlier, for the duration you’ve been thinking about it, envision how many posts you would already have by now. There’s no perfect time to start anything, let alone a photography Instagram, the best time is today. Once you start your Instagram, create a post of your most RECENT work! Don’t go digging, go to the photos that are there and easily accessible and just make post number one. You’re going to just being to practice in this phase and learn the aspects you love.
4. Next you want to SHOW YOUR FACE!! Make a post about you, throw a story up where you share something personal. People don’t just love seeing your photography work on your Instagram, they also love seeing you, the creator! People have an easier time connecting with you if you show them who you are and let them in on your life, hobbies, interests etc.

After you’ve been comfortable for a couple weeks, try making a seamless carousel. Your first one won’t be you best one but at least you’ll try it and get better every time! In conclusion, just start the photography Instagram or you’re going to regret not doing it earlier.
