Date Night Ideas for Labour Day Weekend

As an elopement and lifestyle photographer, I love to include personalized nights that look like a date during our time together. So I’ve gathered a few ideas you and your love could do this upcoming long labour day weekend to spend some time together.

Whether your newly engaged, just started going out or going on a first date; these are for you!

1. Camping

A typical long weekend around Ontario can include going to a campground with your tent, trailer or even a hammock like I use lol!! Try me its super comfy and fun (and cheap!). I’d plan your camp site ahead of time or find a fun wild camping spot, ioverlander, Hipcamp and AllTrails are my all time 3 favourite apps for camping and trail hiking.

2. Bike the Boardwalk

Find yourself a boardwalk along the beach, take each other for a sunset cruise and end on the beach with a little picnic and bottle of wine. Why not?

Kincardine, South Hampton, Port Elgin and Sauble are all cute little Beach towns I’d recommend.

3. Make Breakfast 

Try waking up and starting your day together with a nice breakfast. Head to the store and pick out a few fun favourite’s you both can enjoy and head home to cook together, you might as well throw some tunes on and add a few mimosa’s in the mix too!

4. Hit the Golf Course!

Book your tee-time and a cart and go hit around some golf balls with each other. This is seriously so fun for any stage in a relationship. Make it a double date if you wanted and play a game of best ball!

5. Go to the Drive-In Movies

With it being the end of summer, if your looking to soak up every last bit of summer outside, this is the way to do it. Throw some blankets in the back of the car, grab a pillow and go watch a few movies until you fall asleep!

6. Try a New Coffee Shop

Skip the breakfast idea and go to a cute cafe and try something new, grab your coffee and walk the town together just enjoying each others company. 

7. Book a Photographer

Ok this one might not be for a first date hahha buuuutt weather your hoping to pop the question, want to surprise you love with a fun photoshoot or just want updated photos together. This is your last chance to get summer photos before sweater weather! (Check me out! @zettelphoto)

8. Canada’s Wonderland

Unless your both scared of heights and roller coasters, this is a fun way to enjoy tons of time together, getting an adrenaline rush and tons of steps in LOL!
